Robb offers custom small group and private photography workshops and backpacking trips in Yosemite National Park and surrounding Sierra Nevada.

ALL LEVELS OF EXPERTISE WELCOME

These are “hands on” sessions with personalized instruction for all levels of photography (novice through working professionals wanting to maximize their time in Yosemite). Robb rarely shoots during these workshops, instead committing his attention to helping develop the clients’ photography skills. All that’s needed is a digital SLR (tripod is extremely helpful) and a keen interest in learning about photography in the natural world.
Everyone has a different “eye” for photography in terms of what they find appealing. Robb doesn’t dictate this to the clients, instead allowing them to choose scenes they find compelling and help them work through the process of making the strongest possible images from compositional, artistic and technical standpoints. In addition to coming away with some great images the clients will gain a greater understanding of photography that will stay with them in perpetuity and will be relevant for any type of photography, beyond their experiences out in nature.

These workshops differ from typical group workshops by offering :
