November 2010

Robb has been invited to have another photography show in the lobby of the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite Valley. The exhibit will run November 12-14 and Robb will be present from 12-8 on each of those days to chat. The fall color is popping in the valley and the historic and beautiful Ahwahnee Hotel is a destination in itself- if you're in the area, come by and say hello.

July 2010

Robb’s photography exhibit at the Mono Lake Committee Headquarters in Lee Vining has been extended until January. This is a great bookstore and information center for the Mono Basin, in addition to the gallery space. If you’re heading towards Mono Lake or along Hwy 395, stop in and take a look.

June 2010

For the second year in a row Robb has an image in the Mono Lake Calendar, this one for 2011. They are available at the Mono Lake Committee Headquarters, through their website or at Mountain Sage in Groveland, California. The 2011 Sierra Club Calendar in which Robb also has an image will be coming out in August.

February 2010

Robb and family (wife-Regina, four year old- Noah) took a short excursion to the East Side of the Sierra Nevada to set up his photography show at the Mono Lake Committee Headquarters in Lee Vining. The show is titled "Mono Basin and Beyond- Sublime Moments in Nature". The headquarters incorporates a visitor’s center, great bookstore and gallery space and is the hub for their outreach and natural history programs. They hung fifteen 16 x 24 and 20 x 30 framed pieces in the gallery, many of which were new images printed for the show. It will run through July 15 and there will be an official opening celebration on a date to be determined after Tioga Pass opens.

This short winter trip was quite an adventure as the family camped in 8 degree weather with the snowy backdrop of the Eastern Sierra Nevada. The nights weren’t nearly as difficult as attempting to photograph sunrise with numb toes and icicles hanging from Robb’s beard and mustache.

December 2009

One of Robb’s images, Black Oak in Snow, was chosen to be included in the 2011 Sierra Club Engagement Calendar. Robb has always considered the Sierra Club Calendars some of the finest and most consistent of nature photography publications, so he’s really honored to be included- a highlight of his photography career thus far. Interestingly, of the nearly 70 images he submitted, the one chosen isn’t of an icon or even moderately known location; it’s of an oak tree on the edge of a thirty acre meadow on his property in Groveland. There’s something extra special about having one’s front yard in a Sierra Club Calendar. Calendars will become available in March at most larger bookstores and through this website.

November 2009

Robb has finished the summer and fall seasons of his private photography workshops. There were many more trips than anticipated and they went extremely well, as he took out a diverse spectrum of photographers, ranging from relatively inexperienced through professional photographers wanting to know locations to shoot in order to maximize their time in Yosemite. The small size and flexibility of these trips allow for the customization, providing the best possible photography experience, based on the clients’ goals and objectives. To top it off, they were really fun; a report from one of the trips can be found at.

October 2009

The Mono Lake Committee has invited Robb to have a show and sale of his photography in the gallery space at their Lee Vining headquarters. The show will run from the middle of January through June. Several new images will be printed for the event.

Robb was invited to offer an official submission to the Sierra Club Calendar Publications. They annually publish some of the finest nature photography, and he was honored to be invited to submit. Keep your fingers crossed!

One of Robb’s images, Lundy Canyon in Fall , was selected for the 2010 Mono Lake Calendar and will appear as the September month. This calendar has consistently high caliber, competitive photography and is a fund raiser for a great organization, Mono Lake Committee (calendars can be purchased through their website).

The first few photography tours have gone extremely well and the advertising by Y Explore and Evergreen Lodge has generated a lot of attention. Trips are booking fast so inquire now if interested.

We are proud to announce that Robb is now available for private or small group photography tours and workshops. Details for the trips can be found at Y Explore, Evergreen Lodge, or contact Robb directly. These are customized photo adventures to provide the clients focussed attention and learn the photography skills they desire. They can also be designed to photograph specific locations, if that is the ultimate goal.

Robb is presently working with two great organizations, Y Explore and Evergreen Lodge, to offer custom private (or very small group size) photo tours and workshops. They will be available in the coming months. These trips will be designed for moderate to advanced amateurs who want to improve their photography skills and shoot in some of the most beautiful and lesser known locations in and out of Yosemite. Check their websites and here for updates.

The second show at the Ahwahnee was another resounding success. It was a busy weekend and we met so many great people who stopped by the event. A few new pieces were on display and several large framed prints and hundreds of matted prints were sold. Thanks to all who came by, hopefully we can do it again soon.

Robb was asked to return to the Ahwahnee Hotel and have another showing and sale of his photography the weekend of June 14-15. We expect this to be another wonderful event, so if you’re in or around Yosemite, come check it out.

The gift shop at the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite Valley has decided to carry Robb’s photography in their store full time. On display are a couple large framed images and an assortment of matted prints ready to be framed. This is quite an honor and an outstanding venue for his photography.

Robb's photography show and sale in the lobby of the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite Valley was an outstanding event and all around success. Sixteen large framed images were on display (many of which went home to new owners) and an array of matted prints. He met hundreds of interesting people and wanted to thank all of his family and friends that came out in support. Robb's images are now for sale on a regular basis in the Ahwahnee Gift Shop along side a diversity of truly fine arts and crafts.

Beginning in May, Robb will give weekly slide show presentations at Evergreen Lodge, just outside Yosemite National Park. This is a newly renovated, historic lodge that incorporates outdoor recreation activities for interested guests and is ideally situated for park exploration. His presentations will focus on The Trails of Yosemite and The Making of a Fine Art Print - the stories behind the images.

One of Robb’s images, El Capitan and Merced River in Winter, was named one of the winners in the landscape category of the 2007 Nature’s Best, Windland Rice Smith International Nature Photography Competition, one of the most prestigious worldwide contests. It was published in their fall edition of their magazine along with all of the other winners.
